Genies Pay / In the hand / Wallet
One account can hold several currencies and several crypto balances at once. Which one a payment uses is a decision, and the app makes that decision visible before the money moves rather than explaining it afterwards on a statement.
Illustrative balances. Which currencies and which crypto assets are offered depends on the licence held in the territory — see Crypto.
A conversion is a quote with a life span. The app shows the rate it will use, what the wallet takes, and how long the quote is good for — then re-quotes rather than silently applying a stale rate.
30s · quote held. After that it re-prices.
A rate that is fetched when the screen opens and applied when the customer presses confirm is not the same rate. Between those two moments the market moved and somebody absorbed the difference — usually the customer, quietly.
A wallet that stores a number in a column will eventually lose an argument with a customer. Balances here are derived from a double-entry ledger: one payment, two postings, and a reference that ties them together for as long as the record is kept.

| Tier | What has been verified | What it allows |
|---|---|---|
| Registered | Phone number only | Receive and hold. No spending, no withdrawal. |
| Verified | Identity document and liveness | Full wallet: cards, transfers, top-up and withdrawal, within standard limits. |
| Enhanced | Identity plus source of funds and address | Raised limits, higher-value transfers, and access to the crypto balances where the licence permits. |
The actual limit values are set per deployment by the institution and its regulator. They are not published here because they are not ours to set.

And the other half of the site is the counter this money arrives at — Smart POS, QR, the SDKs and attestation.
